The Japan Coast Guard confirmed that the Chinese fishery patrol ship Yuzheng-31001 was seen sailing east at a location some 43 kilometers north-northwest of Diaoyu Islands at around 6:100 a.m. Monday.

At around 7:100 a.m., the patrol ship reached the waters 24 kilometers north-northwest of Huangwei Island, one of the Diaoyu Islands, and issued warning to Japanese vessels.

Eight more Chinese patrol ships spotted near Diaoyu Islands

Japan’s 11th Coast Guard Headquarters of Naha said, after the Chinese fishery patrol ship Yuzheng-31001 was sailing near the Diaoyu Islands this morning, a fleet of eight Chinese surveillance ships were spotted patrolling in the waters off the Diaoyu Islands at 1:45 p.m. local time (12:45 Beijing time).
