MELBOURNE, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- Fourth seed Andy Murray was awarded a walkover in the Australian Open's fourth round here on Monday to reach the quarterfinals.
The 24-year-old British was leading 1-0 in the third set while opponent, Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan, announced to retire because of a left hip flexile injury. Murray won the first two sets 6-1, 6-1 and moved one step close to his first Grand Slam title.
