DALIAN, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 12 others injured after a gas explosion occurred Monday morning in an apartment building in northeast China's Liaoning Province, police said.
Several windows of a six-floor apartment building were shattered and a balcony on the third floor was destroyed when the explosion occurred at 6:58 a.m. in the coastal city of Dalian , according to police.
All of the victims were living in the building, police said. The 12 injured just suffered slight injuries, according to police.
Police have evacuated the building to run safety checks and an investigation is underway.
